Vilcabamba

Vilcabamba Valley was the last Inca shelter for the ones who escaped from the Spanish, it was essentially for royalty member and nobles. This is a real citadel in the heart of the jungle: what remained of the Inca society resisted during 36 years before an extern band of invaders murdered the last alive successor of the Empire, Tupac Amaru, in 1572. The citadel fell in ruins and oblivion. It has been rediscovered in 1960, but until today, it has not been examined nor brushed.
